Diversity on Deck collects donations to help facilitate our ability to offer free swim lessons. We are currently collecting donations to maintain our communications and outreach; purchase and replenish swim lesson items (such as barbell floats, kickboards, goggles, and—as needed—swimsuits for students); and support our efforts to offer our own, stand-alone swim lessons.

PARTNER WITH US

Teamwork makes the dream work! The success of our programming relies on the hard work and vision of our leaders and volunteers, as well as the generative support of other organizations. Diversity on Deck is privileged to have partnerships and provide swim instruction with long-standing organizations such as Horizons Greater Washington and The Baltimore Children’s Peace Center/All God’s Children Camp. We are eager to expand our network and collaborative efforts. Afterall, we are stronger together.

VOLUNTEER

Diversity on Deck volunteers work as Swim Mentors and are responsible for teaching water competence and swim lesson instruction, offering support to mentees, and educating others about aquatic opportunities. When recruiting Swim Mentors, we are looking for aquatic enthusiasts who are active in water-related activities and share our values of consistency, open-mindedness, and compassion. Furthermore, we prefer that our Swim Mentors are within the age range of 15-22 years old.
